Key Stage 3 Dissertation Challenge

Year 7 and Year 8 students participated in a Key Stage 3 Dissertation Challenge.

Following the submission of the dissertations students were awarded a grade for the completion of a piece of extended writing. The activity was designed to prepare students for the academic rigour and intellectual excellence expected as they progress up the school, and into Post-16 educational pathways. Students also got to experience the real grading process with Teachers and peers in the Headteachers office.

The dissertation question was: Explain the three fundamental rights you think every child in Britain should have. You should explain these rights, justifying those choices and giving examples from Britain and other countries around the world to support your arguments.

There will be an awards ceremony and certificates presented to students for achieving this academic success in due course.
